RMO True Blue Essential Oil — A Bottle I Was Glad to Have at Home

Sometimes a product earns its place in your cupboard not because of what the label says, but because of the occasions when you find yourself reaching for it.

Recently, I woke up with a really bad stiff neck.

This wasn't the usual mild stiffness from sleeping in an awkward position. My movement was very restricted, and one wrong turn could cause such a sharp pain that I instinctively had to stop and hold my neck still. At one point, I even needed someone to help me get from lying down into a sitting position.

True Blue wasn't new to me

I already had a bottle of Rocky Mountain Oils True Blue Essential Oil Blend at home because we'd used it before as a massage blend for joint and muscle comfort in the family.

It didn't occur to me immediately, though. I spent most of the day dealing with the stiffness before remembering True Blue later in the evening.

I used it that evening, diluted with jojoba oil, and gently massaged it around the stiff area.

By the next morning, my neck was much better. There was still some stiffness, but I had regained around 80–90% of my normal range of movement.

I can't say that True Blue was solely responsible for that change. Stiff necks can improve with time and rest as well, and everyone's experience will be different.

But it was part of what I used that evening, and the experience reminded me why we continue to keep a bottle at home.

What's in True Blue?

True Blue is a concentrated essential oil blend from Rocky Mountain Oils containing:

• Wintergreen

• Peppermint

• Helichrysum gymnocephalum

• Blue Tansy

• Spruce

The aroma is fresh, minty and herbal, with the cooling character you would expect from a blend containing Wintergreen and Peppermint.

Rocky Mountain Oils recommends diluting the concentrated blend in a carrier oil before applying it to the skin.

Why True Blue stays in our cupboard

Running Naturain means I spend a lot of time reading ingredient lists, researching products before deciding whether to carry them, and making sure they fit with what Naturain stands for.

Some of those products also become things we keep and use at home. True Blue is one of them.

It isn't something I use every day, but this experience reminded me why I like having it around. I wouldn't expect every stiff neck — or every person — to respond in the same way mine did, but on this occasion I was very glad I remembered that bottle sitting in the cupboard.
